Samsung is reportedly initiating the rollout of the Android 13 update for several of its flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, and Galaxy S21 series. The introduction of the Android 13-based One UI 5 was officially announced a few weeks ago at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2022. However, the latest Galaxy devices, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, may experience a delay in receiving the stable version of One UI 5.
As per a recent report by PhoneArena, Samsung is currently distributing the Android 13 update to Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones. The rollout follows the earlier launch of the Android 13-based One UI 5 during the SDC 2022 event.
Users of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 may need to exercise patience as they await the availability of the stable One UI 5 version, suggesting a slightly longer wait for these devices.
Earlier, Samsung had commenced the distribution of the stable Android 13-based One UI 5 update for models powered by the Exynos 2200 SoC, such as the vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
In addition to the software updates, Samsung has introduced the Camera Assistant app for Galaxy smartphones running on One UI 5. Available for download from the Galaxy Store and included in Samsung’s Good Lock suite, this app offers various features, including the option to enable or disable Auto HDR. The app also incorporates the Soften Pictures feature, smoothing out sharp edges and textures. Users can record videos in photo mode by holding the Shutter button, adjust the number of frames captured after the timer, and benefit from an automatic camera shutdown if inactive for two minutes.
